Ninety years since the coronation

The September 8, 2025, festival in Torraca held special significance: it marked 90 years since the solemn coronation of the Madonna dei Cordici statue by the Vatican Chapter in 1935. The parish community renewed a devotion originating from an ancient rock-hewn church, recognized as a diocesan sanctuary in 2021.

The closing on September 15th

The festivities concluded on Monday, September 15th, with the 6:30 PM Holy Mass at the sanctuary, presided over by the parish priest Father Francesco Alpino, followed by the blessing of students for the start of the new school year, a fireworks display, the replacement of the statue in its niche, and a convivial moment with a sandwich tasting.

A prelude to the Jubilee

The 2025 edition was presented by the parish as a prelude to what Torraca was preparing to experience in 2026, with the Parish Jubilee for the 370 years of the Madonna dei Cordici as Protectress and the 250 years of Saint Peter the Apostle's patronage.
