Maccherone Festival (Maccarrunata)

The 32nd edition of the Maccherone Festival was held on August 1st and 2nd, 2025, in the historic center of Calatafimi-Segesta, with stands opening at 8:00 PM and the hub of the festival in Piazza Nicolò Mazara.

Along the streets of the town, multiple tasting stations for busìata were set up, each with a different sauce — from Trapani-style pesto to seafood and meat dressings — alongside Sicilian sweets, local wines, and craft beer. The evenings were enlivened by the Sicilia Bedda Folk Group with traditional dances and costumes, DJ sets, jugglers, stilt walkers, and fire shows, as well as an inflatable area and mascots for children. The evening of August 2nd hosted the vintage car, Lambretta, and Vespa rally, with an exhibition of historic vehicles and Sicilian carts.

Saturday, August 2, 2025

• 7:30 PM — Arrival of the vintage car, Lambretta, and Vespa club, tour of the historic center, and exhibition at the Belvedere Francesco Vivona
• 8:00 PM — Opening of the busìata tasting stands and craft markets
• In the evening — DJ sets, performances by the Sicilia Bedda Folk Group, live music, exhibition of Sicilian carts, and wine tastings

For both evenings: jugglers, stilt walkers, and fire shows; inflatable area and mascots for children.
