Maccaruni Festival - Reliving the Historic Center

The 2025 edition confirmed the charm of one of the most beloved festivals in the province of Rieti. From August 1st to 3rd, the streets and squares of Ponticelli Sabino turned into natural stages for clowns, fire-eaters, mimes, singers, musicians, and dancers, while local artisans showcased their crafts in the ancient cellars. The heart of the festival, as always, was the terrace of Castello Orsini, where the village cooks served maccaruni dressed with ragù, prepared according to the jealously guarded recipe, accompanied by typical local dishes and Sabina wines. A weekend of taste and tradition that attracted visitors from all over Lazio to the small village in the municipality of Scandriglia.
