Luminara di Santa Croce 2025
The 2025 edition took place on Saturday, September 13th, and held special value thanks to the return of the restored Volto Santo. In the morning, at the Cathedral of San Martino, the ceremony of the crucifix's return was held with the intervention of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure of Florence, followed by prayer and the blessing by Archbishop Paolo Giulietti.
At 8:00 PM, the night procession towards the Cathedral of San Martino departed from the Basilica of San Frediano. Upon arrival at the cathedral, the Mottettone was performed, interpreted by the Cappella Santa Cecilia together with the choir of the Cathedral of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, for a total of about 70 choristers. The evening concluded at 11:30 PM with the Santa Croce fireworks display, clearly visible from the City Walls on the northern side.
