Ludi Plautini Sarsinates

The VII edition of the Ludi Plautini Sarsinates was held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Silvio Pellico Theatre in Sarsina (Forlì-Cesena), on the theme "Plautus's Theatre between Text and Stage Image". Promoted by the Departments of Communication Sciences and Pure and Applied Sciences of the University of Urbino, the conference brought together scholars from Italian and European universities (Trento, Urbino, Madrid, Marburg, Verona) and classical theatre professionals.

The morning session (from approximately 10:15 AM to 1:00 PM) addressed the visualization of theatre in medieval manuscripts, the representation of war in the Miles Gloriosus, and the use of stage space. In the afternoon (from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM), the corporeal expressiveness of Plautine actors and the figurative tradition of the comedy's characters were explored.
