Edition 2025 — Lu Martueriu

In 2025, Lu Martueriu returned to Canicattì during Holy Week, confirming a vibrant and well-attended tradition. The sacred representation of the Passion of Christ, staged by the youth of the Borgalino district based on the text by Father Mario Trupia, animated Piazza Dante and the streets of the centre under the organisation of the Associazione Li Tri Re.

The 2025 edition of Lu Martueriu renewed the rite of the Passion of Christ in Canicattì in the heart of Holy Week. As per the tradition consolidated since 1724, the youth of the Borgalino district brought to life the scenes of the arrest, the trials, the Via Crucis, and the Crucifixion, between Piazza Dante and the streets of the historic centre. The event, organised by the Associazione Li Tri Re with the Good Friday Committee, confirmed the strong bond between the Canicattì community and this popular representation, an integral part of the Agrigento Holy Week.
