Lo Schermo dell'Arte – Film and Contemporary Art Festival

The 18th edition of Lo Schermo dell'Arte was held in Florence from 12 to 16 November 2025, with a programme spread across Cinema La Compagnia and venues such as Palazzo Strozzi, the Institut français Firenze, NYU Florence – Villa La Pietra, Palazzo Gucci, and the Kunsthistorisches Institut.

The opening night featured the live-documentary Non-Aligned Newsreels: Fragments by Serbian artist Mila Turajlić, followed by the Italian premiere of L'Arbre de l'Authenticité, the first feature film by artist Sammy Baloji. Highlights of the edition included a focus on artist Randa Maroufi, the virtual reality installations Eating the Planet by Valentina Furian and Claudia Losi, the BLKNWS exhibition by Kahlil Joseph at Palazzo Gucci, and an exhibition by Armin Linke at the Kunsthistorisches Institut. The customary series of talks with artists and films selected through the VISIO Production Fund was also confirmed.
