Living Nativity of Val Sant'Angelo

The inaugural edition of the Living Nativity of Val Sant'Angelo marked the start of a new Christmas tradition for Pieve Torina, in the Macerata hinterland. In the hamlets of Fiume and Valsantangelo le Rote, the community set up the Nativity scenes along the village streets for the first time, accessible via the decorated Kneipp path.

The success of the first performance prompted the Friends of Val Sant'Angelo Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pieve Torina, to confirm the initiative the following year. Even in this first edition, the event was characterized by its intimate and authentic atmosphere, with costumed figures, markets of typical products, and mulled wine, in a territory that rebuilds its sense of community around such initiatives after the 2016 earthquake.
