Limone Carnival – Dzandumeni Carnaval

The 2025 edition of the Limone Carnival took place on Tuesday, March 4, Shrove Tuesday. The gathering took place at 17:00 in Via Roma, in front of the Town Hall, from where the parade in traditional costumes began.

Children and families were able to discover the most significant moments of the historical Carnival by following the procession along the eight stops of the historic center: at each stop, the masks were presented with traditional songs and dances. Characters included Arlecchino, the Turco and the Turca, the gardener, the hunter, the doctor and the nurse, the godparents, the newlyweds, the elderly parents of Dzandumeni, and Lu Lasard, the executioner. The final stop in Piazza del Municipio featured the closing ceremony with the reading of the testament and the beheading of Dzandumeni Carnaval.
