Liberty Granfondo MTB

Second edition — September 7, 2025

The 2025 edition of the Liberty Granfondo MTB was held on Sunday, September 7 in Canicattini Bagni, in the province of Syracuse. The day began at 9:25 AM with the start of the Liberty E-Bike, followed at 9:30 AM by the Granfondo and excursionist events.

The competitive track, covering 48 km with 1,250 meters of elevation gain, alternated short but steep climbs, rocky sections, and single tracks among the characteristic Iblei dry-stone walls, passing through the historic Sant'Alfano bridge and ancient royal cattle tracks. The finish was expected around 12:30 PM on Via XX Settembre. The race was valid as a round of the XCP and E-MTB Sicily Cup and as the final stage of the 3Coasts Challenge. The event was intertwined with the Palio di San Michele celebrations and hosted side initiatives, including a fundraiser for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research.
