Edition 2025 — Liberation Day at Forte Bravetta
April 25th, 2025: the 80th anniversary
In 2025, the Liberation Day Festival at the Parco dei Martiri di Forte Bravetta coincided with the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Italy (1945-2025), an anniversary particularly felt in Rome's western quadrant and throughout the Lazio region.
The Municipio XII opened the day with wreath-laying ceremonies in front of the stone commemorating the 77 partisans executed in the fort during the Nazi occupation. This was followed by guided tours of the complex's spaces, cultural initiatives, musical performances, and activities dedicated to children, with free admission.
The edition took place in a deliberately sober and quiet setting, due to the national mourning proclaimed during those days. This did not prevent a large participation of citizens, drawn by the symbolic value of the place and the values of freedom, justice, and solidarity placed at the center of the day.
