Edition 2025 — Leofara Chestnut Festival
44th edition — October 25 and 26, 2025
The 2025 edition of the Leofara Chestnut Festival brought the hamlet of Valle Castellana to life with two days of flavor and tradition. On Saturday, October 25, the stalls opened in the morning, offering roasted chestnuts, arrosticini, polenta, chestnut and chickpea soup with mushrooms, fried cheese, stew, fried delicacies, and desserts. The afternoon featured entertainment for children, "Chestnuts on the Fire" guided tours of the chestnut groves, and a briscola card tournament.
On Sunday, October 26, the stalls reopened in the morning, with further guided tours of the woods and live music from the band Spaghetti Rocchenroll, followed by a theatrical and musical performance. The event, organized by the Associazione I'Fere, was paired with a guided excursion to the abandoned village of Laturo. Admission was free.
