Leggenda 2025: the "Hands" edition

The eighth edition of Leggenda was held in Empoli, Tuscany, from May 9 to 11, 2025, with the theme "Hands", interpreted by illustrator Marianna Balducci, author of the poster where hands become support for a tower of young readers. Under the artistic direction of Silvia D'Achille, the festival offered a dense program of free appointments with authors, illustrators, and theater companies.

Listening, shows, and exhibitions

The listening section, curated by GialloMare, brought performances and scenic shows to the Chiostro degli Agostiniani and the city streets, including a surprising pillow fight in the square. About 80 preschool, primary, and secondary school classes from the Municipality of Empoli met with authors during school hours. At Palazzo Leggenda and Piazza della Vittoria, the exhibition by the Le Vanvere collective celebrated ten years of activity, with a monographic exhibition by Marianna Balducci.
