Le Sirene di Marzo

The first edition of Le Sirene di Marzo enlivened Mola di Bari from March 16 to 23, 2025, transforming four iconic city landmarks — the Teatro van Westerhout, the Angioino Castle, Palazzo Pesce, and the Culture Club Cafè bookstore — into the heart of a week dedicated to music, performing arts, and books.

The festival opened on Sunday, March 16, on the promenade with «I manifesti li facciamo noi» (We make the posters ourselves), a project by local middle school students inspired by the myth of the sirens, and continued throughout the week with opera and jazz singing workshops, concerts, and performances. Highlights included a concert by pianist Nicolò Ferdinando Cafaro with the Filarmonici di Roma, the show «Insight Lucrezia» directed by Carlo Bruni, and the presentation of the book «La Babilonese» by Antonella Cilento.

Singing workshops

Solo opera singing workshop «La voce, un viaggio senza tempo» (The voice, a timeless journey) led by soprano Sarah Behrendt; jazz and improvisation workshop «La voce della danza e delle note» (The voice of dance and notes) led by singer Gwen Sampé.
