Le Porte della Badessa

The V edition of Le Porte della Badessa, held on May 31 and June 1, 2025, inaugurated the Piazze d'Estate calendar in Castellana Grotte (BA). Sixteen painters — including Mario Pugliese, Maddalena Marzulli, Antonio Lanera, Sergio Gatti, Mary Fanelli, and Pompeo Colacicco — signed fifteen new doors, bringing the total number of works decorating the village to sixty. The route, enriched by the "Frammenti" on wood, unfolded around the church of San Leone Magno over two days of art, music, theater, and gastronomy.

• 19:30 — Four theatrical incursions by the Grocà group directed by Elvira Spartano
• 20:15 — Show cooking featuring recipes from the nuns of the Sant'Anna Monastery by the "Consoli" Hotel School

• 10:00 — Guided tour of the San Benedetto monastery in Conversano with Tonino Fanizzi
• 18:00 — "Find an Abbess", treasure hunt for children
• 19:00 — Presentation of the reprint of the book "Il baciamani delle Badesse" by Tonino Fanizzi
• 19:45 — Performance by the "Militia Sancti Nicolai" with flag-wavers and costumed figures, and dance performances by Asd Passito Bailante

Throughout both days: music, screenings, CUBER ART exhibition, and stalls with products from the Sant'Anna Monastery (beers, jams, honey) and "Vino Badessa" from Cantine Viglione.
