Edition 2025 — Lavartis and Beer Festival

The 2026 edition of the Lavartis and Pombia Beer Festival was the very first edition of the event: in May 2025, the festival, as conceived by Pro Loco Pombia, had not yet taken place. During that period, the study and promotion of the 1995 discovery in the town's Celtic necropolis continued, providing the cultural foundation that later gave rise to the event dedicated to the oldest hopped beer in Europe.

The Lavartis and Pombia Beer Festival debuted in 2026 with its first-ever edition: therefore, there was no 2025 edition of the event. In previous years, the archaeological heritage of Pombia, in the province of Novara, was already at the center of study and outreach initiatives related to the 1995 find, when traces of a barley and hop-based beer dating back to the 6th century BC were recovered in the Celtic necropolis, now preserved at the Fanchini Civic Museum in Oleggio. It is from this research and promotion work that the Pro Loco Pombia APS drew the idea for the festival, which was inaugurated the following year.
