Laurel Festival

The 2025 Laurel Festival took place on Monday, April 21, Easter Monday, confirming the vitality of one of the most cherished traditions of the Agrò valley, in the province of Messina.

Also in 2025, the village of Forza d'Agrò experienced the usual day of faith and folklore: the laurel banners woven by the village youth, the voting by the confreres of the Holy Trinity, the procession through the streets of the historic center with the band and the faithful, the blessing of the laurel branches and the Sacred Oils in Piazza Sant'Antonio, and the distribution of the cuddure, Easter pastries symbolizing hospitality. The festival concluded at the Cathedral of the Annunciation with Holy Mass and the awards ceremony for the most beautiful banner.
