Lands and Seas Festival

2025 Edition — Second Edition

From June 13 to 15, 2025, the Centro Internazionale Crocevia brought the second edition of the Lands and Seas Festival to Messina, split between the San Jachiddu Ecological Park and the Fondazione Horcynus Orca. Three days of screenings, debates, artistic performances, and readings dedicated to agroecology, the environment, and rights.

Highlights of the edition included: a dramatized artistic reading of the harpooning of the orcaferone, taken from Stefano D'Arrigo's Horcynus Orca, by the Compagnia Anatolè; the meeting "Bridge and/is war"; the screening of Abyss Cleanup by Igor D'India; the art project UUUUDUM by the OPificaa Collective of Morgana Orsetta Ghini and Luca Lagash; the theatrical show "Evolution" by Festanera; and the debate "To whom do the beach, the land, and the sea belong?". Scholars from the University of Calabria and the CRIC collaborated on the event.
