Lampioni and Cuturusciu Festival

The 24th edition of the Lampioni and Cuturusciu Festival took place in Calimera (Lecce), in the Grecìa Salentina, from June 13 to 21, 2025, between the feast of Saint Anthony and that of Saint Louis Gonzaga.

In 2025 as well, the heart of the event was the handcrafted lanterns, built by hand by Pro Loco volunteers with reeds, twine, wire, and colored tissue paper, and illuminated along the alleys of the historic center up to Piazza del Sole. There was no shortage of pizzica and taranta concerts, the Lantern Relay, the Luminous Caravan, and the craft market.

The gastronomic tradition was confirmed with tastings of lu cuturusciu, the soft tarallo recognized as a Traditional Agri-food Product of Puglia, closing a festival that inaugurates the Salento summer every year.
