Lamb Festival

The 57th edition of the Lamb Festival in Collelongo was held on Sunday, 3 August 2025, from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at the Prati di Sant'Elia, the plateau at 1,500 metres altitude in the Marsica region (province of L'Aquila). As per tradition, the event celebrated grilled lamb, prepared according to the ancient local pastoral recipe with selected meat and slow-cooked over an open flame.

Alongside the main dish, prepared by the Pro Loco with the usual fixed-price menu, there was also a food truck with alternative options. The day, filled with folk music and conviviality, confirmed the Lamb Festival as one of the most cherished summer events in the Marsica area, an opportunity to rediscover the pastoral roots of Collelongo and enjoy the clear air of the Abruzzo Apennines.
