Edition 2025 — Lake Mergozzo Crossing

The 24th edition of the Lake Mergozzo Swimming Crossing took place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, attracting over 400 swimmers across the two distances of 2,600 and 5,300 meters, with start and finish in Piazza Cavour. A highly successful edition for the classic summer event in Ossola, rewarded by a sunny day and the clear waters of Italy's cleanest lake, in the heart of the town of Mergozzo, Piedmont.

The 2025 edition, valid as a stage of the Nobile dei Laghi circuit, saw over 400 athletes from clubs across Italy at the start. In the short 2,600-meter race, valid for the Luca Dresti Trophy, Luca Guglielmi (Sportego, 35'03") won among the men and Giulia Corsini (Phoenix ASD, 40'50") among the women. In the long 5,300-meter race, Riccardo Chiarcos (Team Nuoto Toscana Empoli) took the win in 1h07'14", ahead of Gabriele Nardo. The trophy reserved for the largest group went to Swimmer Inside, with 26 athletes present, confirming the strong team spirit that drives this Verbano-Cusio-Ossola event.
