Lajetto Carnival (Le Barbuire)

The 2025 edition of the Lajetto Carnival confirmed the vitality of one of the most evocative alpine traditions in Piedmont. In the mountain hamlet of Condove, in the Susa Valley, the Barbuire masks enlivened the day with their irreverent procession, featuring traditional pranks, the propitiatory rite, and the welcoming of Spring.

As is customary, the event combined carnival ritual with conviviality, with guided tours of the scenes set up in the hamlet, live music, and tastings of local products, in a timeless atmosphere that attracts folk culture enthusiasts every year.
