Edition 2025 — Laga Rural Villages in Poggio Cancelli
Tales of the Fire in Poggio Cancelli
The 2025 edition of the Poggio Cancelli stop took place on Saturday, April 26 with the title "Tales of the Fire," an embrace between generations featuring shepherds, 'poeti a braccio', scholars, and musicians. The day began at 10:00 AM with a welcome by Roberto Gualandri and Maria Rita Rascelli, followed at 10:30 AM by the presentation of the book "Letters from pastoralism. Writings of transhumant shepherds from Fano Adriano," accompanied by the ciaramelle (traditional bagpipes) of Antonio Di Cintio.
After lunch at the local agritourism, at 2:30 PM, there were improvised songs about pastoralism with local folk poets. The stage, part of the Laga Rural Villages Cultural Festival, continued on Sunday, April 27, in Teramo, confirming the itinerant nature of the event among the Laga villages in Abruzzo.
