Edition 2025 — Ladin Carnival of Campitello

In 2025, the Ladin Carnival of Campitello once again renewed its centuries-old tradition with the grand parade on the Sunday before Shrove Tuesday. The masks of the Grop de la Mescrès de Ciampedèl, featuring the Laché, Bufon, and Marascons, animated Piaz de Ciampedel, accompanied by floats, music, and sketches in the Ladin language, in a festive atmosphere shared by residents and guests of the Val di Fassa.

Ladin Carnival of Campitello 2025

The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of one of the oldest carnivals in the Alps. The parade started from Piaz de Ciampedel with the entrance of the Grop de la Mescrès de Ciampedèl and the traditional Laché, Bufon, and Marascons masks, followed by the procession of wooden facères and floats.

As is customary, the carnival period opened on January 17th, the feast of Saint Anthony Abbot, and continued until Shrove Tuesday with parades, masquerade balls, and theatrical performances in the squares and theaters of the valley. The day combined folklore, mountain gastronomy, and Ladin identity in the town of Campitello di Fassa.
