The 2025 Laab Alm Almabtrieb

In September 2025, the Laab Alm Almabtrieb took place, the traditional descent of cattle from the high-altitude pastures of Laab Alm to the village of Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, in South Tyrol.

At the end of the grazing season, the cows were brought back to the valley decorated with flower garlands, branches, and cowbells, following the custom that marks a summer spent peacefully on the mountain. The descent crossed the paths and pastures of the Eggental plateau until reaching the village, where residents and visitors welcomed the festive herd.

The day combined the parade of animals with typical South Tyrolean gastronomy and the genuine rural atmosphere of the area, confirming Laab Alm as one of the most authentic destinations to experience the autumn transhumance of the South Tyrolean Alps.
