Edition 2025 — La Via della Cona
The Christmas 2025 edition of La Via della Cona took place in the village of Calvaruso, a hamlet of Villafranca Tirrena, reviving the ancient tradition of the Peloritani Cona with small vegetable grottoes decorated with citrus and winter fruits, the Baby Jesus, bagpipers, and Christmas carols.
The event was part of the village's rich Christmas program, alongside the Mini Nativity Scene Exhibition in the cloister of the Gesù Ecce Homo Sanctuary—featuring over 150 small nativity scenes created by the faithful and cared for by the Franciscan friars—and the Living Nativity, animated also by the elderly from the Day Center of Villafranca Tirrena amidst ancient rites, crafts, and traditions.
