Edition 2025 — Papa Urbano II a Banzi
On August 18, 2025, the XXVI edition of the historical reenactment La Venuta di Papa Urbano II took place in Banzi: a grand medieval procession with over one hundred costumed participants – ladies, knights, men-at-arms, commoners, musicians, drummers, flag-throwers, and the Norman princes Roger and Bohemond – to commemorate the event of 1089.
The XXVI edition of the reenactment La Venuta di Papa Urbano II animated Banzi on August 18, 2025. The historical procession, with over one hundred costumed participants and the Norman princes Roger and Bohemond, brought the atmosphere of the Middle Ages back to the village, confirming the event – promoted by the Municipality of Banzi with the Basilicata Region and APT Basilicata – as one of the most followed historical appointments of the Lucanian summer.
