La Scinnenza

The 2025 edition of La Scinnenza took place in Ravanusa on Friday, April 18, 2025, Good Friday, starting at 5:00 PM. Promoted by the Santa Croce Parish with the patronage of the Municipality of Ravanusa, the performance involved about sixty performers in period costumes.

The sacred drama began at the Mother Church with the trial of Jesus before the High Priests led by Caiaphas, then continued through the streets of the center with the ascent to the Calvary, set up in front of the Church of the Holy Cross. Among the most intense scenes were the casting of lots for the garments by the Roman soldiers, the repentance and death of Judas, and finally, the crucifixion of Jesus. Mayor Salvatore Pitrola emphasized how the event goes beyond theatrical performance, becoming an authentic act of faith for the entire Ravanusa community.
