La Pietra Racconta

In 2025, La Pietra Racconta chose the theme of travel for its ninth edition, telling the stories of those who left the quarries of Lake Maggiore for America in search of work. The exhibition "Da Picasass a Stonecutter," inaugurated on May 17, retraced the emigration of stonecutters from Baveno and its surroundings to Barre, Vermont, the American granite capital, with a careful look at the daily lives of workers in the quarries over a century ago.

Alongside the main exhibition, the festival enlivened Mergozzo and its territory with concerts, meetings, lectures, and guided excursions, confirming itself as one of the reference cultural events of the summer on Lake Maggiore. The exhibition remained open to the public with free admission until October 5, 2025.
