La Notte della Taranta – Galatone Stage

The 2025 Galatone stop took place on Thursday, August 7, in Piazza San Sebastiano starting at 8:30 PM. The evening opened with the dance school led by the Taranta dancers, who engaged the public in learning the steps of the Salento pizzica.

This was followed by the dance performance Tradimento e Tradizione, a choreographic project by master Fabrizio Nigro focused on the traditional dance of Salento, exploring the connection between the two terms derived from the same root. The grand finale was the concert by the La Notte della Taranta Popular Orchestra, established in 2004 and composed of pizzica musicians from across Salento. The free event brought the center of Galatone to life until late at night.
