La Notte della Taranta - Carpignano Salentino Stop

The Carpignano Salentino stop of the 2025 La Notte della Taranta Itinerant Festival, an edition dedicated to the theme "Plurals", took place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Piazza Duca d'Aosta starting at 8:30 PM, with free admission.

The evening opened with the Dance School, with Taranta dancers guiding the public in learning the fundamental steps of the Salento dance. The group Makarìa then took the stage, performing the most popular tracks of traditional Salento music accompanied by the dancing of Erika Giordano and Clarissa Brescia. A grand finale with the La Notte della Taranta Popular Orchestra, which brought the overwhelming rhythm of the pizzica to the square. The 29th edition of the festival concluded with the Concertone on August 23, 2025, in Melpignano, conducted by concert master David Krakauer.

In 2025, the Carpignano stop once again confirmed the strong bond between the Municipality of Carpignano Salentino, Salento, and its musical tradition, drawing families, young people, and visitors to the square.
