The Mezza dello Stretto did not have a 2025 edition: it is a newly established race, announced as a novelty in the Sicilian running calendar and scheduled for the first time in Messina on Sunday, October 11, 2026, under the organization of A.S.D. Podistica Messina.

In 2025, the running movement in Messina and Sicily was already very active, with a busy calendar of marathons and half marathons throughout the year. It is in this vibrant context that the new Mezza dello Stretto was born, designed to offer the Sicilian capital a city half marathon along the fascinating scenery of the Strait.
