La Désarpa di Valtournenche

In 2025, La Désarpa once again brought the magic of the herds' return from the pastures to Valtournenche. The Aosta Valley red-pied cows, adorned with flowers and cowbells, paraded through the village to the hamlet of Maën, accompanied by breeders and locals in costume. The day continued with a traditional lunch, the Bataille des Chèvres, and dancing, confirming the festival as one of the most beloved events of rural tradition at the foot of the Matterhorn.

The 2025 program followed the traditional structure: morning procession of the herds from Valtournenche to Maën, typical Aosta Valley lunch, afternoon Bataille des Chèvres, and concluding dance.
