La Contea Gentile - A Long-Expected Party

The 2025 edition of A Long-Expected Party confirmed the immersive formula that made the La Contea Gentile of Bucchianico, in the province of Chieti, famous. Over several weekends between late August and early September, hundreds of guests in hobbit costumes took part in the re-enactment of Bilbo Baggins' birthday.

As every year, the public was welcomed into the Shire, assigned to hobbit families, and involved in the evening Grand Banquet, featuring mead, beer, live music with flutes and violins, dancing under lanterns, storytelling around the fire, and theatrical performances, with traditional fireworks closing the evening. In 2025, the dates sold out in a short time, confirming the growing appeal of the project created by Nicolas Gentile.
