La Casazza of Nicosia

The eighth edition of the Casazza of Nicosia took place from April 11 to 13, 2025, in the heart of Holy Week. The itinerant sacred representation re-proposed the most intense episodes of the Passion of Christ — the trial before Caiaphas, the judgment of Pilate with the flagellation, and the solemn Crucifixion — involving performers, actors, and citizens of the town of Nicosia, in the province of Enna. The edition stood out for the renewal of the script, with new scenes and a growing female presence, in keeping with tradition. Numerous civil and religious authorities of the territory, including the mayor and the bishop, took part in the event.
