LA.BO. 2025: Art and nature in the woods of Tornimparte

The third edition of LA.BO. was held from August 4th to 9th, 2025, in the woods of Tornimparte, in the province of L'Aquila. For one week, ten selected artists experienced a residency, creating ephemeral site-specific installations with natural materials, in dialogue with the environment and the local community.

The guiding theme of the edition was the recovery of the territory's cultural roots, with particular attention to the tradition of the charcoal burners, reinterpreted in a contemporary and sustainable way. The works were placed along the Percorso della salute and were freely accessible on foot.

A novelty of 2025 was a free editorial workshop, divided into three phases between July and October, which led to the creation of a fanzine dedicated to telling the story of the festival, curated by STRAPPI and RVM HUB and supported by the creativity incubator of the University of L'Aquila. Admission to the artworks and trails was free.

Programme

For the 2025 edition, from August 4th to 9th, ten resident artists created Land Art works in the woods of Tornimparte, along the Percorso della salute. The ephemeral installations, made with natural materials, were visitable on foot along the trail.

In parallel, a free editorial workshop (maximum 8 participants) took place in three phases: preparatory meetings in July, collection of materials and content during the festival week in August, and editorial processing in October, with the production of the fanzine and a public presentation scheduled by December 2025.
