The 2025 edition
In 2025, L'Aneme de le Morte – Pumpkin Festival returned to Serramonacesca (Pescara province) on October 31st and November 1st, enlivening the village's historic center with two days of tradition, music, and gastronomy with free admission.
The evening of Friday, October 31st, opened the Pumpkin Festival and artisan markets, with traditional ritual songs — "La cungrège de le canture" — and roving music from folk groups such as The Frip, Majammè, and Structuratore Folk. The day of Saturday, November 1st, featured food stalls, traveling shows for children and families (Mirabilia Teatro Magia, Le Fatarelle, Street Band Hobos), the traditional «La checocce chiò belle» competition for the most beautiful carved pumpkin, and, in closing, a concert by the Roberto De Grandis Panflute Trio.
The flavors of the Abruzzese autumn were not lacking: fried pizza, roasted sausages, cooked wine, mulled wine, chestnuts, and traditional desserts, with indoor seating and gluten-free options available. The event was organized by the Retroterra Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Serramonacesca.
