Kunst in der Kartause

Unteroberwasser — the 2025 edition

From July 20 to August 31, 2025, the former Charterhouse of Certosa/Karthaus (Municipality of Senales, Province of Bolzano) hosted the «Unteroberwasser» edition of Kunst in der Kartause, curated by Simone Mair and Lisa Mazza of the BAU – Institute for Contemporary Art and Ecology, invited by the Kulturverein Schnals.

The exhibition path, set up between the monastery rooms and the village's public spaces, brought together works by five artists: Eva Koťátková, Martina Steckholzer, Linda Jasmin Mayer, Ingrid Hora, and Caroline Profanter. The theme, inspired by the "swimming, listening, and playing" of underwater creatures, explored the idea of other life forms as teachers and bearers of hope.

The inauguration took place on July 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM, with a performance by Eva Koťátková, and the exhibition was accompanied by a program of guided tours, workshops, and performances.
