Edition 2025 — Kiss of the Crosses
In 2025, the Kiss of the Crosses once again renewed the ancient rite on Ascension Day on Saint Peter's Hill in Zuglio. The processional crosses from the parish churches of Carnia, decorated with the ribbons of the year's brides, ascended in procession to the millennium-old parish church, bowing to each other as a sign of peace during the solemn Holy Mass.
The 2025 edition confirmed the undiminished charm of one of the oldest rites in Friuli Venezia Giulia. On Ascension Day, the processional crosses of the Carnia communities were gathered and carried in procession to Saint Peter's Hill, where the Kiss of the Crosses rite was celebrated along with the solemn Holy Mass. The day, marked by faith and historical memory, attracted numerous faithful and visitors to the ancient Iulium Carnicum, as it does every year.
