2025 Edition
In 2025, the Joust of Europe and the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy reached its 23rd edition, taking place in Sulmona from July 18 to 20. The qualifying rounds were held on Friday evening (10:00 PM) and Saturday (6:00 PM), while the semifinals and final for the awarding of the two Palios took place on Sunday.
The highlight of Sunday was preceded, at 4:00 PM, by the historical pageant along Corso Ovidio, featuring hundreds of participants in Renaissance attire. Leading the procession, in the role of Queen Joanna of Aragon, was actress Carlotta Natoli, wearing period costumes created by designer Alessandro Pischedda. Among the winners were the villages of Villalago and Navelli, along with the Sestiere of Porta Filiamabili. An edition that confirmed the international spirit of the event, with delegations from various European cities and Abruzzo municipalities.
