The patronal festival of St. Jakob, in the Ahrntal municipality (Province of Bolzano), returned in mid-October 2025 in its traditional form. The highlight was the Kischta-Ranggeln, the historic alpine wrestling competition held on Saturday, October 18, 2025: 86 athletes faced off on the St. Jakob field, including 58 students, 11 youth, and 17 in the general class, with wrestlers also arriving from the nearby Zillertal in Austria.
Alongside the wrestling matches, the festival featured the raising of the Kischtamichl tree, the village band's morning concert, afternoon dancing, and the final prize draw with live music, confirming the Jougiba Kischta as one of the most cherished autumn events in the upper Ahrntal valley.
