Edition 2025 — Jazz in Laurino
Jazz in Laurino 2025: the 23rd edition
The 2025 edition opened its doors on Monday, August 4, with the start of the workshop and the Jazz & Wine evening at La Villa, featuring jam sessions and tastings of local wines. The following day, at the Laurino Amphitheater, the Sensual project by the trio of Rachel Z and Omar Hakim, with Jonathan Toscano on bass, took the stage.
As every year, the heart of the event was the campus: lessons and ensemble music labs in the historic venues of the village — Ducal Palace, Annunziata Chapel, Municipal Theater — under the guidance of Rita Marcotulli (piano), Andy Sheppard (saxophone), Furio Di Castri (double bass), Eleonora Bianchini (vocals), Marco Tindiglia (guitar), and Michele Rabbia (percussion). On August 8, the students performed for free in Piazza Magliani.
The grand finale, on August 11, was entrusted to maestro Nicola Piovani with the Note a Margine quartet. The event was promoted by the Municipality of Laurino with the artistic direction of the Liberi Suoni Association led by Angelo Maffia.
