Edition 2025 — Japan Week

The 2025 edition of Japan Week took place in Manchester, UK. It was during this event that the agreement was announced and formalized to bring the festival to Palermo in 2026, making it the first Italian city in the international circuit promoted by the International Friendship Foundation of Tokyo.

In 2025, Japan Week stopped in Manchester, confirming its role as a major global showcase for Japanese culture, following editions hosted by cities such as London, Paris, Madrid, Buenos Aires, New York, and Sydney.

The British edition held special significance for Sicily: it was in Manchester that the municipal administration of Palermo and the International Friendship Foundation of Tokyo announced the agreement that will make the Sicilian capital the first Italian city to host Japan Week, scheduled for November 2026.
