Japan Days at the Capannelle Racecourse

Japan Days, September 20-21, 2025 edition

During the weekend of September 20th and 21st, 2025, Japan Days brought the Capannelle Racecourse in Rome to life with two days entirely dedicated to Japan. The large Market Area brought together over 100 exhibitors featuring kimonos, bonsai, manga, and accessories, while the Food Area offered onigiri, soba, mochi, gyoza, and other Japanese street food specialties, accompanied by an area dedicated to matcha and sake tastings and a Wellness Area with shiatsu massages.

The stage hosted Taiko Trio percussionists, the Kimono Tales show with master Fumiko Oh, the Kyogen comedy theater, and the Ghibli World live show, along with J-pop and K-pop performances and One Piece and Magic: The Gathering tournaments. Numerous workshops (kendo, iaido, jodo, ikebana, origami, shodō, kintsugi, manga drawing) and cooking shows with guest chefs were also featured.

Mini-concert by Clara Serina (Sunday 21st, 5:30 PM). Shows: Taiko Drums with the Taiko Trio, Kimono Tales with Fumiko Oh, Kyogen (samurai comedy theater), Ghibli World live show, J-pop and K-pop performances. One Piece and Magic: The Gathering tournaments. Workshops: kendo, iaido, jodo, ikebana, origami, shodō, kintsugi, manga drawing, calligraphy, Japanese language, and Studio Ghibli cookies. Thematic areas: Market Area with over 100 exhibitors, Food Area (onigiri, soba, mochi, gyoza), matcha and sake tasting area, Wellness Area with shiatsu massages.
