Jacovella, Lady of the Barony

In 2025, the village of Carapelle Calvisio, in the province of L'Aquila, confirmed its flagship historical re-enactment, Jacovella, Lady of the Barony, dedicated to the Countess of Celano and Lady of the Barony of Carapelle. Once again, the historic center was transformed into a medieval village, with period decorations along the streets, the historical pageant of the countess and her retinue, and performances by flag-wavers and men-at-arms.

As per the tradition established in the first editions, the day alternated between performances, cultural initiatives, and educational activities designed for children, concluding with the medieval banquet in the square, featuring traditional dishes, music, and dance. The event, organized by the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Carapelle Calvisio, confirmed itself as one of the most cherished highlights of the summer in the Barony, in the heart of the Abruzzo mountains.
