Edition 2025 — J'Aboi

The 2025 edition of J'Aboi was held on Saturday, March 1, in the hamlet of Chionea in Ormea. From the start of the parade at Porcirette to the heart of the village, the day featured pranks, dances, songs, and plenty of joy, following the ancient tradition of the masks that drove the Saracens out of the Upper Tanaro Valley.

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Chionea hamlet of Ormea hosted the annual edition of the J'Aboi Historical Carnival. The parade departed at 2:30 PM from Porcirette towards the village, while for hiking enthusiasts, a meeting point was scheduled at 2:00 PM in Piazza della Libertà in Ormea.

In Chionea, the traditional masks brought pranks, dances, and songs to life, keeping alive the memory of a festival that tradition dates back to the 10th century. A free event deeply linked to the identity of the Ormea community, in the heart of the Province of Cuneo.
