Edition 2025 — Italo-Scalettese Carnival

The 46th edition of the Italo-Scalettese Grand Carnival took place between late February and early March 2025, spanning Itala and Scaletta Zanclea. Following the children's events on Fat Thursday and the Mascherina d'Oro competition, the grand parade of costumed groups traveled along Via Roma on Sunday, March 2, from Itala to Scaletta Zanclea, accompanied by the Umbrillara comic band.

The 46th edition

In 2025, the Italo-Scalettese Grand Carnival celebrated its 46th edition, upholding a tradition that has united the towns of Itala and Scaletta Zanclea since the late 1970s. The program opened with Fat Thursday dedicated to the little ones, featuring the "In the Magical World of Masks" party organized by the Pro Loco of Itala.

On Saturday, March 1, the Mascherina d'Oro 2025 competition was held at the cultural center in Scaletta Zanclea, featuring Baby (0-5 years) and Junior (6-10 years) categories. The highlight took place on Sunday, March 2, with the parade of costumed groups along Via Roma, which started in Itala and continued toward Scaletta Zanclea until reaching Piazza Alcide De Gasperi, all animated by the Umbrillara comic band. It was a celebration of confetti, music, and color, deeply cherished by the community of the Ionian Riviera of Messina.
