Edition 2025 — On Leonardo's Trails

The Italian Mountain Running Championship, Mountain Classic specialty, which found a home in Revello on "On Leonardo's Trails" in 2026, was held in 2025 in Borno, on the Altopiano del Sole in the province of Brescia, on September 7th. On Monte Altissimo, the best Italian specialists competed for the tricolor jerseys of the up & down mountain race, awaiting the arrival of the title in Piedmont the following year.

The 2025 Mountain Classic tricolor in Borno

Before arriving in Revello and the trails of Monbracco, the 2025 Mountain Classic tricolor event took place on September 7th in Borno, in the heart of the Altopiano del Sole, with the up & down format on the trails of Monte Altissimo. The national FIDAL event awarded the Italian jerseys of the specialty on a technical and panoramic course, confirming mountain running as one of the most vibrant disciplines in Italian athletics. The move of the title to Revello, in the province of Cuneo, for the 2026 edition brought the competition to Piedmont, at the foot of the "mountain of Leonardo".
