Edition 2025 — Jazz in L'Aquila
The 11th edition of Italian Jazz for the Earthquake-Stricken Lands, titled The Unexpected L'Aquila, was held on September 6-7, 2025, in the historic center of L'Aquila. Over 300 musicians, including bands, choirs, ensembles, and orchestras, performed in 18 different locations, from the San Bernardino Staircase to the Castle, and from the Casella Conservatory to MAXXI L'Aquila.
Among the most acclaimed moments was the concert by the Grande Orchestra Avion Travel & Medit Orchestra with Peppe Servillo, which drew over a thousand spectators, as well as projects like Guantanamo by Fabrizio Puglisi and the TILT conduction directed by Giovanni Maier. The edition, featuring mostly free concerts and some events with a symbolic ticket, was preceded by the Solidarity Walk (August 29-31) through Camerino, Castelluccio di Norcia, and Amatrice, confirming the festival's vocation for solidarity and remembrance.
