The Art of Flags in Megliadino San Vitale
For the first time, Megliadino San Vitale, a municipality in the Bassa Padovana region of the Province of Padua, hosts a national competition of this magnitude. On April 11th and 12th, 2026, the Palazzetto dello Sport Palavitale will host the Italian Flag Wavers and Musicians Championships, attracting athletes, coaches, and enthusiasts from all over Italy to compete for the national titles.
Two Championships in Two Days
The event brings together two distinct competitions. Saturday is dedicated to the 5th National Under 18 Championship 'Premio Vittorio Dini', with individual competitions in the afternoon and pairs in the evening. Sunday is for the 3rd edition of the Women's Championship: singles and pairs in the morning, small teams and musicians in the afternoon, which for the first time will be entirely female. In total, 33 groups from every region will take the stage.
Sport, Spectacle, and Tradition
Flag waving is a discipline rooted in medieval and Renaissance historical pageants, now practiced competitively under the auspices of the Italian Federation of Flag Wavers (F.I.S.B.). The event is organized by the Historical Group of Megliadino San Vitale together with the Federation and the Municipality, with the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Province of Padua, and celebrates a tradition that the town has cultivated for years.

The 2026 edition brings the Italian Flag Wavers and Musicians Championships to Megliadino San Vitale for the first time. At the Palavitale, on Saturday, April 11th, and Sunday, April 12th, 33 groups from all over Italy will compete in the 5th National Under 18 Championship 'Premio Vittorio Dini' and the 3rd edition of the Women's Championship. Organized by the Historical Group of Megliadino San Vitale with the F.I.S.B. and the Municipality.

- Afternoon: competitions in the solo category (individual athletes)
- Evening: competitions in the pair category, followed by awards

- Morning: women's solo and pair competitions
- Afternoon: small teams and musicians (for the first time, entirely female)
